A poor man’s Sagarin ratings for Tennessee high school football

WEEK 1 SCHEDULE

ABOUT THIS PROJECT

This project, in its third year, is designed to give all interested in Tennessee high school football another baseline for discussing teams’ relative strength. They are intended for discussion, but it’s more algorithmic than analytical, and it’s a work in progress.

Once the season starts, the ratings will be hopefully updated Sunday nights or Monday mornings. There will actually be two rating systems — one that gives the most importance to the most recent games, and one that treats all games with equal weight. The actual VFR rating will be the average of the two.

Feedback is always helpful, especially if you find an error of have a suggestion.
